Anna Kate

So we met the Beanes at a place called Oatland Island on Memorial Day. For those of you in Illinois, it's a little bit like a Wildlife Prairie Park, but with crocodiles. Elliot immediately fell in love with Anna Kate, their 2 1/2 year old. After naps, when in the grocery store headed to the Beanes for a cookout, he begged me to buy flowers for Anna Kate. He usually buys flowers for ME when he's with Michael. Somehow I've been replaced by a person who can't spell and weighs about 35 pounds.

Skukudoo - a play place for kids in the Savannah mall

So the best part of this whole morning, other than the fact that both of these kids were extremely happy for the whole time we were there, is the fact that it only cost us $3.25!!! Some good things can still be found in malls.

New bracelet

Elsie's showing off her new bracelet here. Notice that it has the word "EMERGENCY" on it. She's fine, obviously. Somehow at the Chik-Fil-A in Brunswick, GA this weekend she managed to get Nursemaid's Elbow. Ever heard of it? Basically a bone got out of place. When they turned her arm a certain way to take an X ray at the hospital, they popped it back into place.
She was incredibly pathetic, holding her little arm and screaming when we touched it. But after the pop, she was back to her old tricks. Unfortunately she got no nap yesterday and we thought to ourselves, why not take the manic, tired child to the beach where she can run in and out of waves that knock her over. We lasted 25 minutes. The girl is absolutely fearless.
But we're home now, and she's fine. We even got some Amoxycillan out of the deal for her double ear infection.

We're here and we're happy

Doesn't it look like that's what they're saying?

Trees

Recently we had three very large pine trees and a cherry wood tree removed from our back yard for various reasons. It was like renting a show for 3 days. We sat in the playroom window and watched. I think I was even more excited than the kids about watching huge trees more than 2 1/2 feet in diameter fall over 10 feet from our eyes. The crane that lifted them onto the truck was the coolest thing. The operator simultaneously guided them safely onto the truck while talking on a cell phone.  I kept thinking, shouldn't he be taking this more seriously?

Saturdays

So this is what we do now on Saturdays. Elliot plays soccer (here is the team) and Bug struts around with her accessories. She's WAY into accessories lately. She has two purses, one purchased by one of her teachers at school, who saw the need and met it. Papa bought the shades. Yaya and Big Papa the Jamaican baby. She also loves shoes. It bothers her when others don't have shoes on. She recently stole a bracelet I was planning to wear to a dinner, and freaked out when a 9 year old took a bracelet back that Bug had taken and decided to wear herself. I'm never going to be able to afford her.
