First day of school 2012

Big 2nd grader

Big Kindergartener
Finally Elliot and Elsie are at the same school! Heard Elementary started this morning at 9am.  I don't get to pick them up until 3:45 which will seem like 4 days from now.
Who still has some sass.

Elsie was not happy with me leaving and was trying to get me to hug her.

Until she figured out that Ava, her new friend, also loves pink as a favorite color.

Elliot was ready for us to leave long before we were.  We hovered.  For real.

Georgia Aquarium

Apparently it's the largest in the world.  Yaya bought us tickets and Big Papa kept Ezra for the day so that we could enjoy the place unfettered.  And we did!  What an amazing place.  We saw a dolphin show - the kids' favorite - and all kinds of wonderful creatures including Beluga Whales, Japanese Spider Crabs (which scared the poo out of me), a Whale Shark, a Manta Ray with a wing span of 8 feet  weighing more than a ton, Garden Eels (my favorite) and lots of others.  Elsie touched a starfish and Michael and I let an anemone attach its tentacles to our fingers.  There was even a whale slide.

A trip to Griffin

Elliot and Ezra enjoyed a bath in Yaya's big tub

There were bubbles.

It's August in Savannah

The fountain at Forsyth is free, and it cools us off.

Look at that belly.  Grandpa would be proud.

My little photogenic child.

Bow and arrow

Elliot got his first bow and arrow a few days ago as an early birthday present from Papa.  Apparently he could kill a small animal with this arrow, or inflict a skull injury on a human.  I cannot tell you how this frightens me.

Hendrix

Our friends John, Andi, Jack and Annie spent a couple of days with us last weekend.  We love these people.  It was wonderful to have them here and they live too far away.
