This makes up for many a whine

Just now, as I put Elliot to bed,
'Mama, you know what?'
'Yeah, buddy?'
'I yuv you.'

Sometimes he's just that sweet.

Little and big

More quotes:
from Elliot, 'Mama, I think we should leave Buggie at church.'

'Mama, I'm really old. I need to ride the chair down the stairs.'

'Look at Buggie! What a sweet, cute little baby!' (We're not sure where this spontaneous affection came from.)

Contemplation

Is she really going to do it? Is she really going to cut my hair?

Here are some recent quotes from Elliot:
'Mama, the cheese on the broccoli is much better than the broccoli.'
'Mama, you poop, too? And Papa, too?' (Poop is a big subject around here lately.)
'Mama, sometimes Buggie needs to stay out of my room.'

And from Bug:
(Pointing to the couch beside her) 'Mama, sit down!'

Definitely better

So, today Elliot had three donuts, a Special K protein bar covered in chocolate, apple juice, lemonade, water, sausage, bread, Starburst, and Sprite. He played swords with Papa, jumped on me several times and wrestled with Bug.

I think he's feeling better.

Fill-in

Hey all. So if I totally failed to communicate with you, Elliot had his tonsils and adenoids out and Bug got tubes yesterday. Bug's great, like she never had surgery. And Elliot is MUCH better today than he was yesterday. Movies, donuts, Sprite, new books, suckers and ice cream probably helped...

Pre-op/Post-op

Apparently hospital gowns for little people are still in use. Here you see a matching set. Surgery went well, says Dr. Poole. Thanks to all of you who have been praying and asking. Bug was totally back to herself in about an hour. She came home and had lunch, took a nap, got up and played, danced, etc. She's fine.
Elliot's pretty sore. We actually got him to eat some applesauce and bread this evening. We're really hoping he'll get some good sleep tonight. If you think of us, please pray for him, that he'll heal quickly and that the pain will decrease. Thanks!
