Ezra and the catechism

So we've been trying to teach Ezra some of the catechism.  He has the first one down.  But then we get to the second, 'What else did God make?'  The answer, of course, is 'all things'.  But the food-loving Ezra consistently has been answering, 'banana bread.'  Of course a loving God made banana bread.  Go Ezra.

And we're in! We love our new (100 year old) house.  But the wallpaper in the kitchen had to go.  I bought a couple of plastic putty knives and the kids helped.

This elephant was worth all of the $2 I paid for him.

He was actually for Ezra.  But he doesn't mind sharing.  As long as it's not food.

Elsie lately

has been delightful, when she's not screaming.
This morning she joined me on the couch in the sunroom while I drank my coffee.  I asked her,
"Elsie, what should I be praying for you?"
"Hm," she said.  "Pray that Delnawa would believe in the other two, not just God."
"Who's that," I asked.
"She's a girl at my school.  She's from another country.  She only believes in God, not the other two."
"You mean Jesus and the Holy Spirit?"
"Yeah."

We had a friend over the other day

She's in the foster system, so we can't show her face.  But her foster mom and I loved the juxtaposition of her tiny hand with Ezra's paw!
