Cats, sprinklers, and extra time
I guess it's obvious I've had a little extra time lately? This week was spring break for the school where I work. And so, more blog posts. I thought you might want to see Stripes. Here she is, looking decidedly fatter and less eager since we bought cat food. Elliot filled up some afternoon by running through the sprinkler today. Elsie mostly just watched, but isn't she cute in her swim suit?

Quotes
A couple of recent quotes from Elliot:
After viewing and touching some baby chicks at the mall,
Papa: Did you see some baby chicks at the mall today?
E: Yeah.
P: What were they like?
E: Yellow.
After pooping in his pullup (which he thankfully had on and not underwear),
Papa: Did you poop, Elliot?
E: Yeah. Accidents happen, papa!
Running into the house after playing soccer with Michael in the yard with only shoes, a t-shirt and a pull-up on,
E: Mama, mama, get me some pants!
Mama: Why do you need pants?
E: Because if I don't have pants, the wind will blow my legs away.

Best friends
So Elsie now starts calling the cat every time we go outside. Sometimes when she's near the door she points to it and says, 'Kitty?' with her hands out like 'is she out there? Can we go see her?'
She runs around chasing the cat. When Stripes finally finds her and rubs up against her she squeals and scares the poor cat half to death.
Oh, and she got a few new bows the other day.

Personality
Me: Elliot, are you funny today?
Elliot: No. I'm grumpy today.
Me: Why are you grumpy?
Elliot: I just am.
Elliot: Mama, kitties are girls and dogs are boys.
A cat has adopted us. She was hanging around our new house, and Michael gave her a little bit of milk one day. She was our friend after that. The kids LOVE her and Elliot and I have named her "Stripes" for obvious reasons. I think it's a great way to have a cat. I mean, you don't have the cat hair in your house, but if you want to play with her, walk outside and she usually comes within 2 or 3 minutes.
Last night Elliot decided he wanted to eat dinner outside. It was a beautiful night, so we did. We had some cheap steak and some chicken. Elliot finished early and started feeding Stripes his steak, all the while saying, "You hungry, Stripes? It ok. I give you my meat. It be ok, Stripes."
Now she's our friend for life.
